'sup! [She grins, energetic disposition not remotely affected by his annoyance. And as for your answers, Mohammed? No, no, and maybe.]
Hey, you said you're a teacher or something, right? [TA, teacher. Historian. She wasn't really paying attention;] So what do you do over the summer, huh? When school's out!
Oh. Well, I know a lot of teachers and they're really boring, so you're probably better off that way! [She laughs heartily; you know, high school teachers, college professors, same diff.]
Academic stuff seems boring, though. What's the thing where you get to go dig up dead guys and dinosaurs and stuff? You should do that.
Yeah, that! Anyway, books are boring. Who goes out and collects a bunch of old books?
[Who, Mohammed.]
--Huh? Judging what? [Don't be silly, she's definitely not reading the atmosphere. Which is why she seems clearly bent on following you to-- wherever it is you're going.]
[Haha! That's funny. Sigrun gets up and follows after him, getting in line for the bus right behind.]
Everything is history! Including dead guys and dead lizards. What's so much better about books?
[As she gets on the bus, she briefly smacks into the doorway with her guitar case and has to fight it through the door, creating a good ruckus at the front aisle. But not to worry; she soon pushes her way through and plunks the case down in the middle of the aisle nearby so she can keep talking to you!]
--Or like, old weapons! Those are cool too. You ever seen old Viking stuff?
I'm not convinced. [She crosses her arms over her chest, resting them atop her case.] Isn't seeing the stuff people used to fight and live and die with better than just reading about it?
[She switches her arms up, leaving one crossed while settling her elbow atop the other, chin in hand. Hmmmm, you make a fair suggestion, Mohammed...] I've been dragged to some museums like that on school trips back home. I guess they're kinda cool, but listening to all that stuff is so boring. I just wanna look at it.
[Wow Sigrun can never understand the true wonder of learning, maybe Mohammed can just drop the subject.]
If we could go back in time and watch history take place, of course we would say it's better. But all we have to go on are the things Vikings left behind, weapons and books included. How else would we know how they behaved and what their beliefs were if it weren't for books? Without anyone writing about them, how else would we know that they were feared an respected?
What use are weapons if we don't know the context behind them? Clearly, not from flashy objects.
[Nah, he has to be the winner in this argument.]
We have someone at the university translate runes for us.

[He calms down. This is a topic he can handle.]
I work at the museum archives, but I'm considering going into academia in the future, depending how my research goes.

People that care about history, that's who.
[He stands up and heads to the bus.]

We had an exhibit about Viking runes and documentation a few months ago, if you're interested in those.
...And weapons, yes, but I don't work with those
